this weekend

friday night we celebrated beach side for mike's birthday, saturday we dined at the brick, shopped in avondale, saw where the wild things are w/ chris & leah, hit up tsi for the neon indian show, and then supported the movement at the jags game on sunday. not pictured: happy hour & $4 apps at the charthouse after the game with tiffany, wc, beth & tara FTW!

beach bash for mike

sean and i "crossed the ditch" last friday to help ring in mike's 27th birthday. dinner at north beach bistro was delish, then fly's tie for a drink and a shot - sean's first time there!, and finally dancing the night away at the atlantic. lots of friends + lots of drinks + lots of dancing = mike's perfect night. i miss all my friends and the beach, but love how i can come back, give them a hug and it's like i never left. i definitely see more trips to the beach in my future :)

p.s. i have no idea who those girls are that mike is dancing with, i doubt he does either haha, and i love love love the last picture - two of my favorite people with big smiles on their faces.

amy & gil: the wedding

mr. & mrs. gil samson were est. saturday, october 10, 2009! i am so happy sean and i were able to join the happy couple on their special day. the ceremony was short & sweet and oh so beautiful, amy looked amazing - a unique bride in true "amy" fashion, whitney's intro made me ball like a baby, the first kiss was adorable, and the live music performed by tito felix was priceless. "lady" by styx as she came down the aisle, and "all you need is love" by the beatles as the walked hand in hand as husband & wife.

the open bar was a hit, the food was yummy, and maid of honor casey's speech was perfect. as for austin & ryne's speeches . . . you'd have to hear it to believe it. there was a photobooth with props, adorable centerpieces made by the bride herself, dj joey marchy spinning and lots of dancing - luckily, amy & i had both changed shoes half way into the night :)

the night ended at tsi with the bride still in her wedding dress, lots of champagne, a dash of drama and lots of good memories. it was an amy & gil "party" for the history books. congrats again & enjoy your two weeks in italy!

a huge congratulations to sean tucker & tim mcgugan of dog & pony showprints for being included not once, but twice!, in print magazine's 2009 regional design annual for their awesome design & screenprinting skills for local concert posters. one of the posters featured was a collab with my bestie karen kurycki using her beautiful watercolor work. i feel like a proud mama!

happy anniversary angie & taylor!

i've had the one year anniversary of angie & taylor's (zeek) wedding on october 12 marked since the day we got back from their beautiful, super fun wedding in the outer banks, north carolina last year. looking through to find pictures for this post takes me back - the zebra school bus, time spent with old friends, dancing, drinking, flip cup, apples to apples, driving in the dunes (scaaary!), horses, seashore, lots & lots of sand and more. it was my first time in the outer banks, a great getaway with stef & mike, and a weekend full of memories i will never forget. i hope you two spent yesterday reminiscing about the fun everyone had on your special day and how lucky you are to have found one another :) happy anniversary angie & taylor! xoxo
